• According to a landmark 5-year SAMHSA-sponsored study, the Intercept® Oral Fluid Drug Test demonstrated comparable outcomes to urine-based testing for the same class of drugs. The 650,000 oral fluid laboratory test results analyzed, of which 98% were conducted with the Intercept® oral fluid drug testing system, were collected over a five-year period of time in the non-federally regulated workplace market.
  
  The results of this expansive study, which was sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), were presented by Dr. J. Michael Walsh on October 29, 2008 at the annual meeting of the Society of Forensic Toxicologists (SOFT).
